A close look at all the modifications made in Salesforce® Developer Certification examination
Salesforce® Developer Certification examination has undergone changes of late, and previous exam such as Salesforce® Dev 401 no longer exists. Platform App Builder and Salesforce® Certified Platform Developer I are certification exams that would be considered in its place. Unlike Salesforce® Dev 401 or Force.com Developer exam, Platform App Builder examination focuses on building robust and customized applications on Force.com platform.

- Salesforce® Certified Platform Developer I examination which would focus on creating custom applications using Apex and Visualforce. It also evaluates candidate’s fundamental programing ability on Force.com platform. Besides to clear this exam, the candidates should know to:
- Create the data model, business logic, custom applications security, and user interface.
- Have knowledge about developmental lifecycle including testing and development, and related environments.
- Salesforce® Certified Platform Developer II examination concentrates on:
- Developing business logic and complex interfaces
- Advanced programming techniques that consist of object-oriented programming on Force.com platform.
