Phases of ASAP Methodology:

ASAP methodology keeps an eye on tools and training wrapped up in a five-phase process. Below mentioned are the five phases:

Project Preparation:

This phase initiates with regeneration of resources and information. It is an important phase where necessary components are assembled together for implementation. Some major points needed for its accomplishment are clarifying project objectives, planning efficient decision-making process, and building an efficient project team.

Business Blueprint:

SAP defines a business blueprint as the phase that helps in extracting the appropriate data that is required for implementation. The blueprints are created in the form of questionnaires that extract the information about how an organization does a business. Blueprints are mainly required to outline business processes and requirements for future purpose.

Realization:

After completion of phase 2, experts move on for configuring the SAP. This phase is broken into two parts:

  1. The consulting team of SAP helps in configuring baseline system which is also known as baseline configuration.
  2. The project team validates the system to meet the process and business needs for fine tuning of the configuration system. The fine tuning includes the exceptions that are not considered under baseline configuration.

Final Preparation:

Phase 4 closely considers on the configuration before the project goes live and also concentrates on data migration to SAP from old systems. Workload testing and functional testing are carried out for ensuring the accuracy and stability of the SAP system. Phase 4 conclusion must include a documentation before making the strategy live.

Go-Live and Support:

Attention to the what-if scenarios are needed in this phase, that are connected to the deployed business processes along with the underlying technologies that make up these businesses. A preparation is also done for an ongoing support which includes maintaining contracts and documenting the procedures & processes.
