The Salesforce certification exams changes with each release. There are three annual releases: Summer, Autumn and Winter. With each release, Salesforce® also updates certification exams.

A candidate has to pay an amount of $100 to maintain the certification status. Salesforce® launches upgrade exams thrice, once with each release every year. The candidates have to clear these upgrade exams within six months to retain the certification. The initial exam fee includes fee for two upgrades.
